Vitamin B Injections
Vitamin B-12 is the “energy vitamin” as it often increases the energy level helping to prevent fatigue. It also helps to suppress the appetite in weight loss programs as well as having a mild diuretic effect. It stimulates the utilization of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates in the body. Vitamin B-12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin that is commonly found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meats, and dairy products. Vitamin B-12 is frequently used in combination with other B vitamins in a vitamin B complex formulation. It helps maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells, and is also needed to make DNA, the genetic material in all cells.
Vitamin B-5, also called pantothenic acid, is one of eight water-soluble B vitamins. In addition to playing a role in the breakdown of fats and carbohydrates for energy; Vitamin B-5 is critical to the manufacture of red blood cells as well as sex and stress-related hormones produced in the adrenal glands (small glands that sit atop of the kidneys). Vitamin B-5 is also important in maintaining a healthy digestive tract and it helps the body use other vitamins (particularly B2 [riboflavin]) more effectively. It is sometimes referred to as the “anti-stress” vitamin because it is believed to enhance the activity of the immune system and improve the body’s ability to withstand stressful conditions. Symptoms of a vitamin B5 deficiency may include fatigue, insomnia, depression, irritability, vomiting, stomach pains, burning feet, and upper respiratory infections.
Vitamin B-6 also called pyridoxine, is important for the breakdown of protein, fats, and carbohydrates (sugars) in the foods we eat. Vitamin B-6 is very important especially for women. It is connected to hormone balance and water shifts in women. It is a natural diuretic and is helpful for overweight and fluid-retaining people as well as an adjunct to blood pressure control. It is also important to protein metabolism by helping to transport amino acids across the intestinal mucosa into the bloodstream and then into the cells. Vitamin B6 is useful for stress, fatigue, headaches, and low blood sugar and is supportive of healthy immune function.
B Complex — All B vitamins help the body to convert carbohydrates into glucose (sugar), which is “burned” to produce energy. These B vitamins, often referred to as B complex vitamins, are essential in the breakdown of fats and protein. B complex vitamins also play an important role in maintaining muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract and promoting the health of the nervous system, skin, hair, eyes, mouth, and liver.
"I went to Dr. Powers because some of my friends had a few skin procedures done and they looked fabulous. I was very nervous but after it was over, I realized I had nothing to be nervous about. There was absolutely no pain involved at all. It was so simple. And now, I have people telling me that my skin looks really pretty. I’ve never in my life had anyone tell me that I have pretty skin, even when I was young! I owe it all to Dr. Powers. I would recommend him to anyone (and I do)."
